Backpack Program

We provide school age children with a backpack full of food for the weekends. They consist of meals that a child could prepare. Varied items may include pasta and sauce, peanut butter and jelly, canned tuna or chicken, etc. The bags also have granola bars and other healthy snacks that the child can pack for school throughout the week.

We are currently providing 85 backpacks a week, with 2,908 backpacks sent home during the 2020-2021 school year.  Extras are usually added for the holidays (Valentine’s Day, Easter, End of School year, Halloween and Christmas) as well as school supplies at the beginning of the year.
